How it works
When you have an emergency such as an asthma attack or a stroke Helping Hands will be there. Helping Hands will notify local citizens of your emergency, allowing them to respond faster than emergency medical services and save your life. Use the wearable interface, planned widget interface, or directly through the app to connect you quickly to a 911 operator, and we'll handle the rest for you.
Challenges I ran into
It was a difficult development environment having no SSH or FTP, we use Azure for our web services which was incredibly difficult to debug without those features.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The app looks great and will benefit our local community. With a little more work this app could save a lot of lives, especially in areas with bad response times like extremely rural areas or overwhelmed cities like Detroit.
What's next for HelpingHands
HelpingHands is a great tool, but we want to do a little more work before we put decide to release it on the play store. If people are going to trust Helping Hands with their lives we need to make sure it is rock solid.
