Inspiration

The inspiration for this project was created when I worked along side some daycare facilities on another project and got to understand the reality of some of the elderly people living in there. During the day there are beeing taken care of in the homes but at night they are most often then not totaly alone and prone to acidents/sos situations.

What it does

On the surface the product is simple. An sos bracelet that will allow the user to reach for help with a press of a button or activate itself when detecting a fall or elevated amounts of CO2 in the air. Below the covers our system will determine what body of firefighters is closer to the user and give them all the info they need to help(Age, name, bloodtype, allergy's, medication, sex)

How we built it

The current project is on a prototype stage. What we had built in the past was a simple proof of concept using an arduino, gps, co2 sensor, gyroscope and the button itself.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest problems so far is to make the product water proof and to have his battery last for a long time on one charge. This is beeing solved by trying out new combinations of hardware.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have had the chance to work with some firefighters to understand key details needed on the sos call.

What we learned

So far we have learned a lot when it comes to comunication tecnics; processors and gps's but there is still a long way to go.
