Inspiration

I personally started my spiritual journey in 2023. I began to meditate and do some chanting in order to center my mind and access deeper states. Initially, I found it extremely hard to meditate, and could not sit for more than 5 minutes.

In September 2023, I met my spiritual teacher. The moment I met him, something within awoke. I had never experienced so much love and accept. As I began to experience my heart, the trust and intuition it holds within, I realized how much the mind creates fear, anxiety and limitations due to its impermanent nature and the importance of living from the heart with love and compassion. This new experience changed the way I meditated and experienced life.

This journey from mind to the heart is a process, and I am constantly learning and improving. This 40cm journey takes time, patience and guidance. This is why we want to build HeartSight - to help people observe, track and guide this journey from mind to heart in order to live a better and more fullfiling life.

What it does

The product helps people notice when they shift from intuition and trust (heart) into overthinking and control (mind) and guides them back to a calmer, more present state.

It works by combining a mobile app and smart glasses to track signals like breathing, emotional state, and mental activity. The main signal is HAI (Heart Alignment Index) which depicts the electromagnetic field of the heart (which is 5000x more than that of the mind). When the system detects that someone may be stuck in the mind, it gently prompts them with reflections, exercises, or visual feedback.

The glasses can record life situations where the users were facing mental focus, or stress and replay them in order to simulate the environment, build awareness of their patterns, understand their triggers, and develop habits that bring them back to a more grounded, compassionate, heart-centered state.

We reframe their responses using mindful activities like breathing and meditation

How we built it

We first met as a team to ideate, we used FigJam and Google docs in order to build the idea, the target customer and the key elements. Once the idea was clear, we build the design system and colors using Figma Make. One of us focused on designing the glasses experience using illustrator and Figma. The other two designed and built the digital experience of HeartSync. The initial design was created using Figma Make, and then exported to Figma Design for personal modifications and personalization.

Once the design prototype and glasses was ready, we built the slides and recorded the submission video.

Challenges we ran into

Main challenges were with Figma Make. The initial prompt response was satisfactory but it was very difficult to get visual improvements and brand design system alignment in Figma Make.

Another challenge was visualizing something thats very subtle and internal. Concepts like moving from mind to heart are abstract, so we had to figure out how to represent them through signals like breathing patterns, emotional states, and user behavior

A big challenge was privacy concerns and intrusive behavior If the system notifies users too often or too aggressively, it can interrupt their flow instead of helping them reflect.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We really love the idea, and enjoyed the process of building something that improves the human experiences and is focused on love and compassionate living.

We’re proud of creating a clear product vision that connects emotional awareness with technology. We were able to design a system that helps users reflect on their internal state in a tangible way.

We also are very happy with our teamwork and division. The ideation was fun, the design system was coherent and we were able to build a solution that focuses on gentle guidance and self-awareness, rather than trying to “fix” the user. All in a grounded, and intuitive manner.

What we learned

We also learned that simplicity is critical. Emotional insights can quickly become overwhelming if the interface shows too much data. The most effective experiences are the ones that present clear, meaningful reflections rather than complex analytics.

We also learned that when we move to more subtle tracking, and retraining, technology works best as a guide, not a solution. The goal isn’t for the product to control emotions, but to help people notice patterns and reconnect with themselves.

What's next for HeartSight

Next, we want to spend more time studying the electromagnetic field of the heart to understand the viability of the HAI.

We want to focus on improving sensing and personalization so the system can better understand each user’s unique patterns of stress, overthinking, and calm.

We also want to make the journey more guided, and expand the journey visualization, helping users see longer-term trends across days or weeks and understand what environments, people, or activities help them return to a heart-centered state.

Long term, we envision HeartSight becoming a personal awareness companion that integrates seamlessly into daily life, helping people stay more present, balanced, and connected to themselves.
