Inspiration

Schools have become a poignant part of our society. Researching through the struggles faced by the schools in rural areas, we got inspired to work on the model/project that will help in assessing the school's happiness index and in incorporating the result to **improve **the crucial experience that we call schooling.

What it does

Our project lays down an optimal way to assess the happiness quotient of students, parents, and teachers which in turn leads us to determine the weighted happiness index of the school.

How we built it

  • Analysing the Problem Statement
  • Researching the factors/parameters affecting the happiness quotient
  • Designing the UI/UX of the application and Algorithm
  • Front End Development of Happify using Flutter and Dart
  • Integrating the backend database using Firebase

Challenges we ran into

  • Research interpretation could lead to ambiguity
  • Lack of special training in technical skill sets

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Designed a flexible algorithm that can be even implemented outside of the project framework.
  • Managed to build a functional app that will provide a platform to assess the happiness index of school and a lot more.
  • As of now there is no platform that calculates weighted happiness index of school which makes our model quite scalable

What we learned

  • Through research, we came to the conclusion that the model of calculating happiness index can be used way beyond the boundary of schools.
  • We understood the role of importance of happiness quotient in the growth of the school as well as the individuals associated with it.
  • We got well versed in various technical skill sets both front-end and backend.
  • Happiness index not only depends on the basic amenities of the school but also on the mental well being of the individuals who are a significant part of the school.

What's next for HAPPIFY

  • Schools can incorporate this model to get a deep insight regarding the environment within the school and also the mindset of its students. With this , the school can make the required changes and alter the amenities which prove to be a hindrance in the way of the growth of school and in turn give a monetary advantage
  • Commercialization of app - Our App has extremely good commercial potential. We can partner with Schools all around the rural India and subsequently helping India develop from the ROOT LEVEL
  • Will incorporate ML and Tensorflow to get recommendations for the improvement of happiness index of an individual as well as of school.
