Inspiration
The inspiration for this project were personal observation of how autistic people struggle to wear certain types for clothing and textures.
What it does
EnClothe is the one-stop shop for autistic people, customised for all their adaptive clothing needs that prioritises user input into the design process. It enables the customer to choose most preferred fabric, colors, styles and additional features.
How we built it
EnClothe provides a base design of a garment, which will be created collaboratively among designers, therapists, neurologists and engineers. Fabric swatches are then provided to the customer so that he/she has a direct contact with available fabrics. Then colors and styles can be customized on the website.
Challenges we ran into
Since we are targeting a new segment within adaptive clothing, it was difficult to estimate the market size and we had to take some assumptions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to design website flow in less than 24hrs and identify key buying factors for clothing for autistic people.
What we learned
We learnt how different perspectives - designers, engineers and business people - can collectively result in successful implementation.
What's next for HackLBS Team Clothing for Disabled
We will start developing the website and would want to work on MVP with some financial support.
