Building GTASA Control Center: From Legacy VB6 to .NET 8If you ever spent hours playing GTA: San Andreas back in the day, you probably remember how wild—and honestly fragile—classic trainers and control center tools used to be. A single bad memory write could freeze your game or crash it straight to desktop. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been rebuilding and modernizing that experience from the ground up with GTASA Control Center. What is this project? The original tools relied heavily on legacy VB6 architecture and older hooking methods that are clunky on modern Windows systems. Instead of tossing away decades of proven game data, I took the reverse-engineered offsets, vehicle catalogs, and warp coordinates and ported them into a clean, modern .NET 8 WPF application. What’s working right now:Live Game Telemetry: The app hooks directly into the active gta_sa.exe process, showing real-time health, armor, cash, wanted stars, and clock cycles on a tactical dashboard. Crash-Safe Hooking: Added safety validation and fallback lanes before writing memory, keeping the game stable during teleports or stat edits. Vehicle Tuning & Spawning: Full catalog support to browse, spawn, paint, and tweak handling on the fly. Quick Navigation: Instant warps categorized by safehouses, mission hubs, and custom-pinned test spots. Environment Controls: Live sliders to change the weather, freeze time, or alter world simulation speeds.
