Inspiration
There are many applications related to mental health such as mind training and meditation in the App Store. We wanted to create a service that naturally introduces Calgary businesses and spots to the common program format that currently exists, helping users to change their mood as they explore the area.
What it does
People often don't know why they feel bad and what to do to make them feel better. MOODSPOT provides a solution that allows users to record how they feel and what made them feel bad, and at the end introduce local attractions and restaurants to make them feel better. For local business operators, it is an application that can be beneficial to everyone, giving users natural advertisements and exposure, and allowing users to explore the local area.
How we built it
We configured the front-end screen with Vue. We used Nodejs to configure the backend and MongoDB to answer questions and contain data about spots.
Challenges we ran into
Even we learned programming, this was the first time we started a project in earnest. Since we have just learned the stack we use, we struggled with using the front-end CSS and Vue components. And the most difficult part was connecting the front-end, back-end, and database. Even if I searched on the Internet, it did not come up well, and I was at a loss because there were many modules to be installed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The first thing to learn is that Mongo DB, Nodejs, and Vuejs are connected as one. Because it took a long time and was difficult, everyone was proud when they succeeded. To make the project, everyone on the team stayed up all night working on the project, putting all their passion into completing the project. We are proud to have collaborated and produced the finished product to contribute to the project together.
What we learned
I learned how to collaborate through Github. We realized that setup was required beforehand. Although it was a project that all of them were working on for the first time, they were able to complete good results thanks to the hard work of all the members. It was also a good opportunity to realize once again the importance of communication.
What's next for GO
I also want to use a function that analyzes users' moods using machine learning. I also want to implement a service that matches with a counselor using a real-time chatbot service.
