We were inspired to make an educational game to educate people on the wonders of space, specifically the different planet types and how each is formed.

Our game follows a rock named Gea who is trying to protect these developing planets by smashing different incoming asteroids. We also included a "solar system" window so you can see in detail all the planets you've protected.

We built the code in Monogame and made all the art assets in Photoshop and Illustrator.

Our biggest challenge was having our GitHub repository stop working multiple times forcing us to restart and waste valuable time. In the end, our programmers didn't have as much time as they liked to clean up the code because of this.

As a team, we are proud of the game's art and our commitment to education. We are really proud of all our efforts during this Brickhack.

Since this was our first Brickhack, we learned a lot about what it means to make a game in such a limited time and how to manage different projects all at once.

What's next for Gea The Rock

This wasn't just a game we wanted to get finished just so we could submit something, each of us has become very passionate about this game and wants to see it live to its potential. We will most likely visit this project after Brickhack to make it even better and have it become a legitimate tool to teach people about the universe.
