Inspiration

Some of us performed Hajj more than five times and in each year we see that the same problem is continuing to happen every Hajj season. The insane crowd and its unpleasant aftermath. Accordingly, a simple solution and approach were needed to be taken actively, and this is why we start this project.

What it does

The application uses GPS to target where a crowd is starting to occur, therefore, the operators can take an action by notifying the authorities. To highlight what makes our application different is that we use a distinctive approach as we try to solve the problem proactively by trying to minimize the results before the occurrence of the issue. However, our challenge was in finding a way to attract users download the app since the main goal for the app is to manage the crowd, therefore, we added a feature that we called "The Hajj duties" that guide/remind everyone performs Hajj to the Hajj ten days obligations in an easy, daily and unusual way. This same feature will help the operators (Hamalat) to notice the performance of their customers and if someone is falling behind and need some help. Shortly, Our application mainly targets the crowd issue, how to manage it and how to reduce it, but at the same time, it helps the Hajj operators to detect where their customers are and if they are in danger or need help. Moreover, beside this application trying to preserve/facilitate the journey of pilgrims, they will benefit from the app as it will work as a reference for everything they will need regarding the Hajj performance.

How we built it

We built our application using Android platform and Firebase Real Time Database. in addition to the use of the mobile hardware sensors like GPS. For the design we used Sketch to design our app.

Challenges we ran into

How to merch more than one idea in one application, how to work with the time frame and some coding challenges for sure.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

That we made this app beneficial for more than one group of people.

What we learned

We have learned many lessons from this project especially and from the hackathon generally. For example, working as a team was a new experience for some of us, but we really enjoyed it.

What's next for G043-UNidentified

Regarding our current project, we want to push رَبَّنا تَقَبَّلْ | Rabbana Taqabbal into the hands of more than only the pilgrims in Makkah, but to use it in everywhere that is suffering from the crowd, for example, traffic congestion is a good area that can benefit significantly. Moreover, we are planning to add Artificial intelligence and Mechane learning once we have sufficient data as it will make everything much easier to manage, predict and notice. As for our next projects, it's a secret :) Stay tuned!!
