Inspiration

We were inspired Charles Montgomery's book Happy City which details the impact of city-planning on people's overall quality of life, especially for women who live in a male-dominated society.

What it does

Our project spreads awareness about the gender data gap. It links to a map that depicts the strengths, weaknesses, and points of improvement of several major cities in the United States

How we built it

We built our project through GitHub, Figma, Adobe Illustrator, and VSCode.

Challenges we ran into

Over the weekend, our team was met with various challenges from learning the fundamentals of web dev to debugging code under tight deadlines.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're really proud of our development in technical skills. With limited prior knowledge in web-dev and GitHub, this project really helped us enhance those technical skills while increasing our knowledge in topics that we wouldn't have covered in our current classes.

What we learned

We learnt how to utilize our time and effectively code as a team. In terms of technical skills, we learned how to program in VSCode alongside GitHub while learning how HTML, CSS and JavaScript all coincide.

What's next for Futura

We hope to incorporate even more cities whether it's domestic or international. Additionally we hope to include more details about relevant lawmakers so that we can inspire more change.
