Furry Feels

Inspiration

I was inspired by the emotive characters in the movie "inside out" to make a character depicting drastic yet subtle emotions. In my case I tried to show all the emotions in the same character and how small changes in expressions can lead to a completely different emotion. To give the character showing strong emotions a soft look I tried to make everything furry.

What it does

It is a 5 set unique images which, together, form a collection of Uniqs (NFTs) showing the different emotions of a furry ball created for the Ultra Uniq NFT PFP Hackathon.

How I built it

I made the art using Adobe Illustrator and Ultraverse. After different trial and errors I came up with this character and concept that I thought would be suitable for this hackathon.

Challenges I ran into

The biggest challenge to creating any art is coming up with an idea and being able to reciprocate them as it is and thus ideation took the most effort for me. Since my concept was around creating different expressions and emotions, those are the things that require attention to detail and a slight difference of angle could create a different emotion so it was challenging.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

It is not a common concept and style of art for me but I was quite pleased with the end results so I have got the reward of satisfaction already! I had taken an interest in the NFT market since a while back but had been hesitant on creating one, but thanks to this PFP hackathon organized by ULTRA I'm able to get a chance to do this and I'm really looking forward to win this hackathon.

What I learned

I got to get familiar with Ultra and explore areas in design I hadn't yet. Even while creating the art I got to think different ideas as I had to make a set not just an individual piece. Giving it a furry look got me to explore more tools in Adobe Illustrator as well.

What's next for Furry Feels

I plan to create 3D characters out of these using blender for more usability and even 2D ones can be used as stickers or avatars depicting different moods. I will creating more NFTs related to various emotions which would allow more people to get associated with them.
