Inspiration
Inspired by the social aspects of multiplayer and location based experiences, we wanted to create a co-located multiplayer game in mixed reality. Because of the Paris Olympics, we were inspired by the theme of Greek mythology and felt there is a gap in the market to physically have the magical powers of Greek Gods. We chose Apollo, Nyx, Demeter, and Poseidon.
There is also a gap in the market for playground and boardgame style social games, encouraging playing together in a local space within each other's company. There has been proven demand for multiplayer games in VR with many successful non-local multiplayer games, Nintendo has been massively successful with the Mario Party local games - MR allows us to combine the best of both worlds and come together and play in new and innovative ways.
What it does
It brings friends and family together through chaos and cooperation - encouraging movement and play across the space and social interaction where the players are all actually together in the same space.
How we built it
From notepads and sketchbooks to software and hardware - Unity, Blender, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Premier…Teamwork!
Challenges we ran into
Multiplayer implementation, time constraints
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The multiplayer implementation, the social concept and execution and potential future iterations
What we learned
