We decided to head home - thanks for an awesome hackathon! I hope I'll be able to make it next year.

Inspiration

We're working on a synthetic biology research project over the summer, but we've found that it's difficult to explain to our friends and family what it is that we're doing. We want to design a website that visualizes some of the basic synthetic biology protocols in a way that is easy to understand for someone without a strong background in the field.

What it does

The graphics convert step by step protocols into appealing images that show the methods simply.

How we built it

We used Illustrator to draw the diagrams. We plan to use javascript and the scroll library to design the website in the coming weeks.

Challenges we ran into

Our group has minimal coding experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learnt to use Illustrator

What we learned

How to use Illustrator & wireframes to make the designs for our website and take control of the structure. We attended several workshops to learn new skills in building websites and handling data.

What's next for Float Website Graphics

We want to continue making graphics for the different protocols we use in the lab. We want to build the scroll infographic/website to represent our project.
