Inspiration
Frustrated by the experience of having to go to multiple sources on the Internet to find solutions to DIY tech projects such as replacing a broken screen on an iPhone, upgrading the RAM on a Macbook, and more, Fix'D presents users with easy and efficient solutions to all their mobile device issues in a centralized user friendly environment.
How it works
Fix'D is the intersection of information that act as a search engine. Call it the Google of the DIY world, if you will. As soon as a user enters a search, a stream of feed will appear. The user have the option to then refine, sort and evaluate Fix'Ds that are either uploaded by other users or solutions drawn from resources on the Internet, all without having to leave or be redirected to another place. Each Fix'D is linked with the essentials, resources, tips and services that will get new Fix'Ders well on their way to get it Fix'D!
Challenges we ran into
Coming together with an intuitive and simple user experience, conducting market research competition analysis, ensuring that Fix'D distinguishes itself from its peers like iFixit, eHow, Instructable and more.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The entire process is simply rewarding; the very fact that, as a team of first time hackathon-goers, we are able to conceptualize, brainstorm, research, design to finally produce a tangible proof of concept.
What I learned
The power of a weekend collaboration. From ideation to execute, this project taught us how quickly a business can be developed.
