Inspiration

We were inspired to correct what we saw as a huge delay in sound technology in the sports entertainment business. Everyone focuses on the biggest jumbotron and the newest VR, but sound technology should be seen as equally important.

What it does

Our technology would record Binueral or 3D sound from football games by placing a mic on both sides of a football helmet. This will record sounds exactly how our ears take in sound, giving supreme depth and sense of place through sound. You will be able to experience the sound of the game the same way the players do. The fans will have ads played in between plays in order to offer the service to all fans at the stadium and at home, free of cost.

How I built it

We used a python framework known as Kivy in order to start designing a preliminary model of what our app would look like. We plan to add fan rewards, mini-games, and other gamification within the app in order to maximize time on the app.

Challenges I ran into

We see some issues regarding the players accepting this new technology and the inability to have leagues implement the field side technology.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are all proud of the idea and the preliminary sketches and drawings

What I learned

What's next for Field Side 3D sound

We want to try to connect with someone who could speak on the possible business barriers this product has as well as implementing the Fieldside technology with visual VR resources.
