Formul.ai: Inspired by the Racetrack, Transforming Stadium Management

Fueled by the fast-paced world of Formula 1 racing, Formul.ai tackles the complexities of stadium management. We address challenges like handling massive crowds, coordinating real-time events, and optimizing operations for stadiums, concert halls, esports arenas, and beyond.

Building Formul.ai: Leveraging Powerful Tools

ShapesXR: We leveraged ShapesXR to:
- VR Visualization in Quest 3: This allowed us to experience our designs in a realistic VR environment for the Meta Quest 3, providing valuable insights into user interactions and usability.

Blender usage: We employed Blender as our primary tool for map generation. By incorporating addons like OSM, we were able to create accurate maps and effectively visualize data distributions through the creation of heatmaps.

Challenges Faced: A Glitch in the Matrix (and a Lesson Learned)

A ShapesXR glitch due to highpoly object nearly caused a setback 20 hours before submission. This experience highlighted the importance of maintaining multiple backups to avoid data loss and Optimization of Assets for XR.

Accomplishments: A Successful Proof of Concept

We successfully demonstrated the feasibility of this XR experience, showcasing how it can empower users to manage large-scale stadium events within a virtual environment.

What We Learned: Continuous Improvement

Multiple Saves are Essential: Always have backups to prevent data loss.
Early Prototyping is Key: Develop prototypes early to validate ideas.
Game Engine Exploration: Consider exploring game engines like Unity or Unreal for future development.

The Road Ahead: Building the App and Refining Workflows

Our focus now shifts to building the full-fledged Formul.ai app for the Meta Quest 3. This involves integrating functionalities and refining workflows for an optimal user experience through real-world testing and user feedback.
