Inspiration

The inspiration to build this is people around me. I live in Nepal and here almost more than half of the population does farming. But the problem with farmers is that they don't get good price for their crops ,so many end of taking there life, and I also here similar news from other parts of world too. And the other problem with farmer is that they still rely on traditional way of farming and has much less knowledge about different pesticides and different stuffs in farming.

What it does

Farm-aid solves multiple purpose for both farmers and consumers. For farmers: It helps to get good market price for their product. It helps in planning crop plantation consedering different factors. Ai will suggest farmers with what to crop in particular season and place based on the market , flucktuations, and future demands. Ai will also help in summarizing the laws related to farming and ways to get easy loans. Sine this app will store history about farmers crop planned, and order, famrer can get easy loan based on the analytics from app. Also the unique feature of this app is , farmer can further create their own brand by maintaing the profile. Farmer are mainly non-technical so for easy use, farmer can easily communicate and get answer in language without the need to type and read. For Consumers : Cosumers offen also want to get foods in less cost price. So this app not only hepls farmer i getting good price, since it in some how removes the need for middle man, it can help both famrer and consumer in getting reliable price. Consumer can build trust , subscribe to different farms or farmers to get early notifications and latest access to their product and also pre-order products.

How we built it

I built the complete interface using Bolt.new . It was easy to use and change different aspect based on the need. Since my project required ai-assistant, i used llama using groq api for easy accessibility. I have used Ellevenlabs for text-to-speech and to make communication easy for farmers. Since almost 95% of the user interface was created using Bolt , it became very easy for me to modify using bolt, and that also helped me alot because I am not that good at Ui/UX. I have used Supabase for database integrations and netlify for deployment.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was that since the idea was very broad , while integrating different api , i had to modify different things and so it caused alots of problem in debugging and also in deployment. The api integration was one of the most frustating phase.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Since this project is itself close to my heart, the thing I am very proud of is that it's gonna help millions of farmer to get good life. Not only that the app was created with indept analysis of market so it has potential to scale as farming app in large scale. And sine this was my first vibe coding experience , so this Accomplishments is also something to be proud of.

What we learned

I have learned the importance of applications like Bolt in today era, that can turn our ideas to real apps in just some minutes. I had never heard of netlify , supabase and elevenlabs, and now i know very easily how to use them and how easy is it to use them for our projects.

What's next for Farm-Aid

Farm-aid will be aiming to making the platform more acceesable and eay to use for farmers all over the world. When we will launch the app officially, we will be collaborating with different bussiness and companies to provide farmers with equipments in discounted price.
