Inspiration
Evenu was born during a university workshop where we were asked what we felt was missing in our academic journey, and how we could help students like us. We realized that information about academic events was often scattered and hard to follow. From that simple insight, the idea of Evenu started to take shape — a platform to make academic events more accessible, organized, and connected.
What it does
Evenu is a platform that helps both students and academic event organizers. For students, it offers a centralized space to find, register for, and participate in events like seminars and conferences. For organizers, it provides tools to manage logistics, registrations, notifications, materials, and communication — all in one place.
How we built it
We used no-code tools to build the first version of Evenu, focusing on simplicity and functionality. We created databases to manage events, user roles (attendee/organizer), content uploads, and scheduling. The interface was designed to be intuitive and mobile-friendly, keeping the student experience in mind from the beginning.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was designing a product that worked equally well for two very different users: attendees and organizers. We also had to learn how to manage data structures, automate notifications, and build something scalable — all while staying within the limitations of no-code tools.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of turning a simple workshop idea into a functional and useful tool. We managed to build a working prototype that feels clean, efficient, and student-centered. We’re also proud of how much we’ve learned about product design, user experience, and platform logic in the process
What we learned
We learned that a strong idea grounded in real needs is more valuable than trying to build something just for the sake of it. We discovered how important user feedback is, and how powerful no-code tools can be when used creatively. Most importantly, we learned how to solve problems step by step.
What's next for EvenU
Next, we want to test Evenu with real students and organizers, gather feedback, and refine the platform. We aim to add features like integrated payments, attendee interaction (live Q&A, polls), and analytics for organizers. Our goal is to launch a public beta and begin building partnerships with universities and academic institutions.
