"Nearly 40 percent of people age 65 and older had at least one disability, according to a U.S. Census Bureau report that covered the period 2008 to 2012. Of those 15.7 million people, two-thirds of them say they had difficulty in walking or climbing."

What it does

*Generates multiple routes to a given destination. *Measures hundreds of elevation points for each route. *Calculates easiest route to walk.

How we built it

Using javascript along with these api's *google maps *google places *google elevation *google chart *google directions *google geolocation

Challenges we ran into

Trying to determine the best route was difficult and the algorithm can be improved. We are currently using standard deviation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We got the map to work, the best routes to display, and a chart of elevation change along the path.

What we learned

We learned a ton about the google maps api.

What's next for Easy Walk

*Better algorithm to detect anomalies (ex: huge hills) *Geolocation tracking on path *Turn by turn directions with elevation change alerts
