🌍 EcoQuest An immersive web game that transforms real-world maps into eco-adventures—where every cleanup mission empowers players to protect the planet, one virtual act at a time.

🌱 Inspiration We wanted to address the global issue of environmental waste in a way that was fun, engaging, and educational. Traditional awareness campaigns often struggle to capture attention, especially among younger audiences. With EcoQuest, we combined the power of gamification, real maps, and sustainability education to inspire action through play.

🎮 What It Does EcoQuest is a web game that uses real-world maps to let players explore waste-prone areas, clean them through mini-games, and learn how to care for the planet. Key features include: 🌐 Real map integration (OpenStreetMap). 🗑️ Trash hotspots with interactive clean-up mini-games. 🎯 Virtual clean-up drives players can create or join. 📚 Real environmental facts woven into gameplay. 🏆 Points, leaderboards, badges, and unlockable tools. Whether you're a student, teacher, or eco-enthusiast, EcoQuest makes sustainability education accessible and fun.

🛠️ How We Built It Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React Maps: Leaflet.js with OpenStreetMap API Mini-Games: Canvas API / Phaser.js for sorting and cleaning games Backend: Firebase (Auth, Firestore for event tracking and user data) We focused on creating a smooth cross-device experience that integrates location-based elements with engaging gameplay.

🧱 Challenges We Ran Into Integrating clickable map elements dynamically. Designing intuitive mini-games that still teach waste types. Keeping performance smooth on mobile devices. Creating a balance between gameplay and learning without losing engagement. Respecting user privacy while using real-world locations.

🏆 Accomplishments We’re Proud Of Built a fully playable prototype with real map data. Designed a clean and modern interface that’s kid- and teacher-friendly. Created educational mini-games that are actually fun. Integrated environmental education directly into the game experience.

📚 What We Learned How gamification can reinforce learning effectively. The importance of visual feedback and rewards in driving engagement. That sustainability education can be both interactive and impactful when done right.

🚀 What’s Next for EcoQuest Mobile app development for wider reach. Integrate real clean-up campaigns with in-game rewards. Collaborate with schools and NGOs for outreach and impact. Add team missions, AR features, and more advanced mini-games. Translate into multiple languages for global use. To make into a real world application connecting this game to some other popular games which need coins to continue such that for coins this game can be used.

EcoQuest isn’t just a game—it’s a call to action. Join us in turning education into impact and making the planet cleaner, one mission at a time.
