Inspiration
We were inspired by thinking about how we could come up with a solution to connect social media users with resources and methods to help with the social obstacle of endlessly doom scrolling. Which would help improve the overall mental health and wellness of users.
What it does
When a user hits their pre-set screen time, a popup fills the majority of their screens urging them to do other activities that do not involve screen time. This is done by encouraging users to do activities based on their current emotions and/or based on what they like to do, or checking off activities from a current to-do list.
How we built it
We primarily used Figma for the UI design, with Adobe illustrator for the icons. Additionally, we used google forms and in person interviews to collect user research.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into were during prototyping, getting certain functions like the slider on the emotion survey to slide back and forth, as well as the breathing exercise bubble animation used during the meditation activity. Another challenge we ran into was just the lack of time and manpower that would have been helpful when designing and creating the app.
