Progress Update: DocVision AI – Multilingual OCR System We're excited to share the latest progress on our project! Successfully built a Flask-based web application for image upload and processing. Integrated EasyOCR to extract text from images with support for both English and Telugu languages. Added automatic language detection using LangDetect. Developed a results page that displays extracted text in an easy-to-read format. Implemented a download feature that allows users to save extracted text as a TXT file.
Throughout development, we learned a lot about OCR technology, Flask web development, file handling, and AI-powered text processing. We also overcame challenges related to OCR accuracy, dependency management, and multilingual text extraction.
Next, we're exploring enhancements such as PDF support, AI-powered summarization, translation features, and handwritten text recognition.
