Inspiration
Natural disasters (and manmade ones) are on the rise. often people have to evacuate in a hurry, and need information about their belongings and property which they leave behind, this data is valuable to users, emergency services and rescue ops
What it does
collects data from array of sensors which indicate disaster related damage
How we built it
lots of wires, sensors, electronics and testing
Challenges we ran into
integrating everything, and getting a gps lock

all the sensors work
What we learned
sensors need calibration. gps locks need strong antennas. solar panels dont charge well in cloudy weather. its not always sunny in Philadelphia
What's next for Disaster Alert Box (DAB)
add strong radio transcievers test gps locking calibrate sensors
