Inspiration: We've all done the lap: library packed, annex loud, cafe down to two outlets, both taken. Forty minutes gone before any work happens. What would have saved you? "Quiet now, power, open long enough" lives only in other students' heads.
What it does: With a huge variety of Colorado venues, filtered by outlets, noise, hours, or group size, you can: Run a timer that survives a refresh. Share your spot only with accepted friends. See a ranking and ratings of certain locations and community. See listening history, friend's study status, and socialize.
How we built it: Next.js and React, with Node's built-in SQLite, so the whole app runs locally with no cloud setup
Challenges: Three days didn't fit our ideas for DeskHop, seat prediction, reservation APIs, and managed Postgres died the first evening. We wanted to add lots of features to the webpage to make it more usable and were unable to connect any more information to the website. We had to compromise and were not able to make the web nationwide/worldwide, add premium features, and add more information to the individual store pages.
What we learned: Big ideas doesn't mean perfect implementation, and communication is key! Everyone needs to pitch in and diligently work for the success of the project. Collaboration was the golden ticket to the project's creation, and we learned to work with each other in an environment we had not experienced before. We needed to compromise, problem-solve, and communicate. Although the game isn't perfect, its perfect for us.
What's next Implementing everything we did not have time to! Add store details, expand the locations for the web, and potentially publish to the web :)!
