I created Departly to digitize the event departure preparation experience and help individuals who struggle with being proactive. Currently, there are no digital resources that help people prepare to leave for an event, so I chose to make an app that calculates when a user should depart for an event based on their location, form of transportation, time it will take to park, time it will take for the user to complete tasks in preparation for the event, and user selected departure safety buffers. Additionally, we’ve all experienced what it’s like to be running late for something and still have to pause to send a text or make a call when we’re already late. Departly has an automated running late messaging feature that will send a push notification out to the user who is running late offering them to send an automated message letting their contact know that they will be late. Overall, this app is supposed to fix the current hectic experience of preparing to leave for events on time for people who are not the best at time management.
