Inspiration
The Energy demand is growing fast because of population explosion and technological advancements. Therefore, it is important to choose reliable, cost-effective and everlasting renewable energy sources for energy needs. Thermal pollution and radioactive emission by the Massive Electricity Power Plants have been increased to 30% in (2021) as compared to (2020). Power plants that burn fossil fuel pump carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas that causes Earth's temperature to rise. Also, there is a gap between property owners, vendors, fitters and energy companies. Thus we came up with the idea “Solar Energy”. It is easily deployable without disturbing the infrastructure and without causing any harm to the environment. This is why we are creating “Solar.AI” which uses Geospatial Analysis, helps local communities to move in the direction of a solar future and save the planet by reducing the thermal pollution and radioactive emission by the Massive Electricity Power Plants helping us to move towards ZERO Carbon Future.
What it does
The objective is to hyper-scale the deployment of distributed solar and the transition towards 100% renewables by using technology to modernize the way rooftop solar is sold. To enable property owners to enjoy a hassle-free digital solar journey and to act as a neutral advisor to aid them in making a better solar decision.
- With the help of satellite imagery, our web application model gives the estimation of the rooftop area, the solar intensity value, the number of solar panels required to cover the rooftop, estimated costs of installation, cost recovery rate and the total savings on electricity bills.
- We also intend to solve the problem “15% of the total costing of big solar projects costs go into the area assessment & analysis”. With help of this model, this cost will become Minimum or Zero.

How we built it
Production Platform: PyCharm Community, Jupyter Notebook, VSCode, Figma. Python Libraries: Numpy, Matplotlib, SKLearn-Images, pylab. Live Video-Stream: OpenCV, CV2. TechStack: Google Maps Static API, Open Street Maps API, Google Cloud Vision, Twillio, SAWO API, Coil. General Coding Language: Python. Web-app: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Jquery, Node.JS, Express.JS, MongoDB
Challenges we ran into
Converting OSM to GeoJSON for mapping. Finding a Front end interface to lay over the geoJSON. Implementing Classifier using classification, FCNN and Geographic coordinates & cartography was another big challenge. Also, learning new platforms Coil & Symbl.AI.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The Solar.AI Model makes the work easier and smoother. Due to the effectiveness of this system, users can easily get connected to nearby vendors which makes it an effortless system. From now, Consumers will no longer have to pay unnecessary commissions or travel longer distances and waste their time and money on useless formalities to the Vendors & fitters. As Solar Energy is a 100% renewable form of energy,
- It makes ZERO Chances of faulty electricity bills.
- It makes ZERO Chances of Power failure.
- It reduces thermal & Radioactive Emissions and helps to move towards Zero Carbon Future. Since this model is completely bootstrapped C2C, It acts as a Zomato which Connects Consumers to Vendors resulting in ZERO Capital Investment.
What we learned
- How SAWO API is used for sign-in/sign-up/log-in purposes.
- Twillio and Symbol API
- Chatbot for Personal Assistance, which takes fields of the consumers that have queries related to Location, Pricing, Website Navigations, or talking personally to the expert. Also, providing the consumers/website viewers an option to ask queries according to their needs.
- Analysis of sentiments. (For Predicting how many consumers who registered for Buying are planning to buy it)
- Tracking and setting constant promotional emails. (For Identifying the current status between Vendors and Installers)

What's next for Deficit Power Bill using Solar.AI
Plan Alpha: We Planning to work on Solar.AI and will release it into the market in form of web applications and mobile applications within the next 6 months. Plan Beta: The Plan is to keep adding additional features and API Connecting Services with the integration of Cloud Services of Emailing and sending alerts via SMS Connectivity and Whatsapp Connectivity.
