Project Technical Overview & Security
The Stack: Frontend: React and TypeScript.
Backend: FastAPI (Python).
Infrastructure: Firebase for secure storage and Phone Authentication, eliminating the risk of forgotten passwords.
Real-Time Architecture: I integrated Daily.co for WebRTC-based video and screen sharing. By leveraging UDP, Comet ensures ultra-low latency communication. Security is built-in through industry-standard encryption and secure infrastructure, ensuring all session data remains private and protected.
Seamless Communication: The Resend API handles the invitation flow, allowing users to generate and send session links via email with a single click.
Security & Scam Prevention: Comet is designed with a "Safety-First" architecture. Unlike remote-control apps that open the door to hackers, Comet’s model ensures the senior is always in control. There is no "inbound" calling from strangers; the senior manages their own connections, creating a closed loop of trust that prevents common remote-access scams.
The "Post-Guidance" Feature (Post-Hackathon Note): Due to the strict 3-minute video constraint, I wasn't able to demo the AI History Section. After every session, Comet uses AI to analyze the transcript and generate a step-by-step summary. This lives in the senior's history tab so they can revisit the instructions at any time. This removes the "guilt" of having to call for help twice for the same problem—empowering them to learn at their own pace.
