Our inspiration was our own struggles with our finances and general lack of financial literacy. We believe that the earlier kids are exposed to financial concepts and become comfortable with managing their money, the more likely it is they will be responsible with their money in the future. Our project is aimed towards women and other minorities, who are traditionally underrepresented and underinformed in the field of personal finance.
What it does
Our project is a platform that offers engaging tracking, educational, and practice-oriented services for young adults. It is accessible and personalized, so every individual can feel comfortable learning the fundamentals of finance.
How we built it
We built our project using Qoom, HTML, and CSS. We also used Adobe Illustrator to create the original designs for the website.
Challenges we ran into
We had trouble deciding how best to present the educational content on the 'Learn' page. We went with CoSpaces, which is helps to make the delivery of the content unique and engaging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our branding and the overall visual cohesiveness of the website. We were also proud of how of we were able to utilize our different skills and backgrounds to produce a well-rounded product.
What we learned
We learned how to use Qoom, html, and css, as well as how to create, design, and pitch our idea and end-result!
What's next for coink!
We plan on add more learning resources and topics, more quizzes in the plan section for even more guidance, improve/add more games, connect with card/bank account so users don't have to manually input spending information, more market research and beta testing for user feedback from our target audience, and finally, make a companion app.
