Public issue reporting systems today are often slow, inefficient, and lack transparency. Citizens frequently report problems like potholes, water leakage, and garbage overflow, but there is no guarantee of timely resolution. We were inspired to build a system that empowers citizens and ensures accountability by using AI and automation to bridge the gap between people and government authorities.

💡 What it does

CivicPulse AI is a smart platform that allows citizens to report public issues in real-time with images, location, and descriptions. The system uses AI to automatically categorize and prioritize issues, then routes them to the appropriate authorities. If the issue is not resolved within a defined time, it is automatically escalated to higher officials. Users can track progress live, ensuring transparency and accountability.

🛠️ How we built it

We built CivicPulse AI as a full-stack application:

  • Frontend using React.js for an interactive user interface
  • Backend using Node.js and Express.js for handling APIs
  • MongoDB for storing user data and complaints
  • AI models for issue classification and priority detection
  • Geo-location APIs to tag and map reported problems
  • Notification system for real-time updates
