​## Inspiration ​As a science student aiming to bridge the gap between healthcare and advanced technology, I noticed how difficult it is for general people to get instant, reliable medical advice. In critical situations or during maternal care, a slight delay in guidance can lead to major complications. This inspired me to create CareBuddy AI—a digital bridge that combines smart technology with nursing care to make health management accessible to everyone, anytime. ​## What it does ​CareBuddy AI serves as a 24/7 personalized healthcare assistant and nursing dashboard. ​AI Chatbot: Offers immediate consulting, triage, and maternal health guidance based on symptoms. ​Digital Health Guide: Provides dedicated guidelines for managing chronic conditions like diabetes and gastric issues, alongside proper nutritional plans. ​Smart Medical Tools: Features automated BMI & BMR health calculators for precise fitness tracking. ​Monetization Ready: Fully integrated with Google AdSense architecture to sustain the platform through automated ad revenues. ​## How we built it ​The platform is crafted using modern, scalable, and lightweight technologies: ​Frontend UI: Built with Streamlit for a clean, responsive, mobile-first design hosted smoothly via the MeDo platform. ​AI Engine: Powered by the Google Gemini API to understand user queries deeply and provide accurate medical and nursing insights. ​Backend Logic: Developed completely in Python to handle data validation and processing. ​Revenue Integration: Embedded raw HTML/JS scripts linking a live Google AdSense configuration (Publisher ID: pub-7482303859667884, Slot ID: 9064540213) directly into the app structure. ​## Challenges we ran into ​Building an all-in-one health app came with distinct hurdles: ​AdSense Restrictions: We integrated real Google AdSense code scripts, but ran into the classic issue where live ads don't display immediately on free hosting sub-domains without manual domain verification. We bypassed this elegantly by creating a clean layout architecture that acts as a ready placeholder. ​Context Preservation: Ensuring the AI chatbot gives continuous, safe, and medically relevant responses without hallucinating crucial health facts. ​## Accomplishments that we're proud of ​Successfully integrating Google Gemini API to generate reliable, conversational health and maternal care recommendations. ​Designing a fully responsive, clean healthcare interface that runs perfectly on mobile mockups. ​Implementing a production-ready monetization model right inside a hackathon project, showing its real-world market viability from day one. ​## What we learned ​Deepened my practical expertise in prompt engineering and utilizing cloud-based AI tools for real-world impact. ​Learned how Google AdSense integration behaves under sub-domain constraints and how to build ad-injection architectures within Streamlit. ​Gained a deeper appreciation of combining medical-nursing logic with cybersecurity considerations to securely assist users. ​## What's next for CareBuddy AI ​Custom Domain Deployment: Moving from the MeDo sub-domain to a dedicated custom domain to clear Google AdSense verification and go live with monetization. ​Certifications & Compliance: Advancing the platform's standard by integrating strict data protection mechanisms, utilizing concepts from my cybersecurity path. ​Prescription Scanning: Implementing an OCR feature to let users easily scan and understand handwritten doctor prescriptions.
