We wanted to show people how much their trips cost the environment in terms of releasing carbon dioxide into the air

What it does

A person can select their car make and model, input their trip details, and our program will ouput how much carbon is released by their car duing that trip. It also compare their cars to those of the same maker as well as the overall average.

How we built it

We used splunk to query the date, google maps to run the trip details and pull the distance, and google graphs to create the comparison.

Challenges we ran into

Connecting splunk to html

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Managing to pull from spunk to get our data

What we learned

How to incorporate a 3rd party database into an html.

What's next for car-bonfootprint

Incorporating more car models and making it more dynamic.
