Inspiration

The inspiration for Cadence came from our own personal struggles with chronic stress and chronic health conditions. We relate and deeply empathize with people with a chronic health condition that is worsened by stress, and we understand how hard it can be to reduce stress.

What it does

Cadence tracks various metrics to provide the user with a stress index level. Users can also input when they are experiencing health-related symptoms. The built-in AI, Cadence AI, can then analyze all of this data to provide users with real answers as to when, where, and why they are experiencing stress and worsening health symptoms. Cadence AI then provides the user with different auditory experiences to help reduce stress levels.

How we built it

We used Figma Make to generate while brainstorming, and then created a final prototype using Figma Design. The illustrations and logo were created using Adobe Illustrator, and our video was created using Adobe Express. Lastly, our slide presentation was created using Figma Slides.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge we ran into was time management. We are both full-time students, and we work 20+ hours a week. This meant that we had to work this weekend and also complete this project. Even though we were limited on time, we are extremely happy with how Cadence turned out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The thing that we are most proud of is the UI design of Cadence. We are very happy with how clean and pretty the UI looks, even though we had such limited time. We are also proud of our video demo, as neither of us is very skilled in video creation.

What we learned

The main thing we learned is that rapid designing leads to rapid learning. Because we were designing and creating so quickly, we had to learn on the fly. This project really pushed us to learn how to design faster!

What's next for Cadence

After this competition, we will be refining Cadence into a project that we can add to our portfolios.
