Project Idea
We’ve all stood at a bus stop staring at a schedule that says the bus is arriving, but the road is completely empty. That feeling is "Commute Anxiety," and it’s why so many people give up on public transport and drive instead. JECCA Sense is our answer to that. We’re building a "digital nervous system" for the city that doesn't rely on installing expensive hardware on every vehicle. Instead, we simply turn the smartphones we already have in our pockets into intelligent sensors.
Our system, built entirely on a JavaScript stack (React and Node.js), listens to the heartbeat of the city. By analyzing anonymous signals—like how many Bluetooth devices are clumped together, the ambient noise levels inside a vehicle, and GPS motion speed—we can figure out the context of a ride instantly. We know if a bus is overcrowded, stuck in traffic, or if it has completely broken down, all without needing official reports.
We use this data to create a "Journey Reliability Index" (JRI). While Google Maps tells you which route is fastest on paper, JECCA Sense tells you which route is the best in reality. We grade every trip so you can avoid the stress of a 12% reliability route and choose the 91% reliable one, ensuring you actually get where you need to go, on time.
