Team Name: Boba Buddies Team Members: David Choi (djchoi) Ricardo Jonathan (rjonatha) Stephen Nah (snah) Ziyan Tan (ziyant)
Inspiration
The goal of our project was to connect our fellow CMU students over boba talks. We felt that sometimes when we want to make friends on campus in different majors or need help with a project, it’s difficult to get the networks that we need. This platform is a way for people to break the ice and hang out in a safe space amongst other Tartans.
What it does
Log in with one of the registered users (David Choi, Cindy Zhu, Ethan Gu, Lucas Liu, Qin Wang, Puhua Cheng, Stephen Nah). Then, send invites to other people. After someone accepts your invite (or you accept an invite), you exchange contact information with the other person.
How we built it
We used SvelteKit + Supabase + TailwindCSS + daisyUI.
Challenges we ran into
None of us did a hackathon before, and we all had pretty limited development experience. We couldn't get out as many features as we hoped to (including the ability to register new users). We also wanted to integrate actual boba locations into the invitations but ran out of time. We believe those features are things that could have been implemented with a bit more time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we have a (somewhat) functioning project for our first hackathon ever.
What we learned
We learned that time is of essence, and that we should get to work quickly. We also learned how to cut features where necessary.
