I was inspired to design Badger so that I am able to categorize important notifications by App. The app name comes from the word "Badgering" which means to pester which is what the app does by keeping all important push notifications saved and reminding you to respond to them. This app can be used as an entrepreneur to keep track of your medial presence and respond to client and customers all in one location.
What it does
This application categorizes important notifications as you receive them from emails, social media, and sms. The reason behind this is that you can keep all important notifications saved in Badger until you respond to the notifications. This app functions by having email, social media, and sms because many important content can be found in all them and this way you only have to open one app to view what needs to be done and respond to.
How I built it
I began the process with hand sketches of the user flow. Then I designed UI components like the title and logo in Illustrator and Photoshop. After I made a decision on the user flow I created a interactive wire-frame through Axure RP 9. From there I began to design the application through Android Studio.
Challenges I ran into
I ran into many challenges throughout my design process. During the design phase I had difficulty envisioning the user flow and functions of the application. Once I got started making the applications I faced many hurdles as I tried to design the UI, interactions, and functions that I wanted in Android Studio.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud of challenging myself to design a whole app on my own, especially since I have never coded until RowdyHacks!
What I learned
I learned a lot throughout the design of Badger. I learned how to code in Java and how to use Android Studio to design applications.
What's next for Badger
I wan to add the favorite functionality so that the app recognizes important content based on the users use. As well as adding a calendar function to link reminder in app regard response or other functions from the email, social media, and sms, applications.
