Inspiration

Badger was inspired by the black and white creatures' love for honey. They are creatures that scavenge for food and go great distances to eat. With Badger, I wanted to make a app that tells people to slow down and see beauty in the small moments in life. The logo is inspired by a badger's sett (burrow) and the app's UI is both modern and cozy.

I wanted to create something that could highlight small things most people ignore and to have the opportunity to spread some cheer. I find that photography and capturing moments in photos is very rewarding.

What it does

Badger connects people with "Honey Hunts" that are a set of challenges with or without prizes. These challenges can be made and sponsored by companies to include raffles or participation prizes. There is also the option to make your own Honey Hunt and share it by link with friends. In a time where digital connection is the only way of connecting, Badger wants to share the honey and happiness with everyone.

Despite including prizes as an attractive feature in my advertisement, Badger isn’t solely monetary. Badger wants you to learn new things and feel like you are being rewarded in the process. Stop staying in your burrow and go out search for honey.

How we built it

Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop were used to prototype and brainstorm ideas.

Challenges we ran into

Being a one girl team with no coding experience, codeless applications were the only way I could make the app. I am also a beginner to UX design and this is my second time using Figma- this took me an extremely long time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I think that I translated my vision to a working prototype in a very small amount of time. Although it isn't as polished as it could be, Badger and I hope you enjoy.

What we learned

I learned a lot of new Figma transitions and animations today. I also learned that my back pain flares up very easily.

What's next for Badger

I am planning on learning web development and hope that I can bring Badger to a platform, whether it be an Android or IOS app, or even a desktop application. Once I figure out how to edit videos, a promotional Badger video will come. I'll see you on Badger once I've got sponsors and a team of developers.

Please Note: When viewing, give the prototype some time to load. The raster images are very high quality and require some time to become clear.
