Inspiration: Axio Power was formed in 2007 by a group of renewable energy development experts to accelerate the adoption of utility-scale solar power.
How it works: The team began developing projects of 2-20MW by acquiring land options, interconnect positions, permitting applications, and utility off take contracts
Challenges I ran into: undeveloped market, high cost of solar, high land values, interconnection hurdles, permitting push back, conservative slow utilities.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of: We secured contracts for 150MW+ of projects that were built from 2011-2015.
What's next for Axio Power: 100% acquired by SunEdison on June 1st, 2011.
