Inspiration
Having helped people in the local community through food drives inspired us to make an all-inclusive solution for low income families to get access to services like healthcare, job openings, welfare, food pantries, government programs, shelters, etc.
What it does
Avidra lets low income families keep track and have access to help from the local community
How we built it
Rob and Madhur developed the web app. Perm did research and customer discovery by attending a local food pantry and asking questions to our future end users.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was coming up with an identity and interface that would make our app approachable and easy to use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're really proud of making a user friendly web app.
What we learned
We learned a lot about the customer discovery side of the process and actually going out there and doing market research among local food pantries and non-profits and develop our web app accordingly. This experience is usually not attained at a hack-a-thon.
What's next for Avidra
We want to expand and make all our services fully functional. The ICP food pantry is really interested in integrating our service during their food drive next month. So we will be actually taking Avidra to market.
