🚗 Inspiration

Imagine your vehicle breaking down in the middle of an unfamiliar road. You are stranded, stressed, and unsure where to find a trustworthy mechanic. We realized that getting help during a breakdown should be simple, not another problem to solve. That's what inspired us to build AutoBuddy — your trusted companion on every journey.

💡 What We Built

AutoBuddy is a one-stop vehicle assistance platform that connects drivers with nearby verified garages and roadside mechanics. From finding workshops and comparing service prices to booking emergency assistance and tracking mechanics in real time, everything is available in one place. Whether it's a car or a bike, AutoBuddy helps drivers get the right assistance when they need it most.

🛠️ How We Built It

We built AutoBuddy using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB. Leaflet.js and OpenStreetMap power location-based garage discovery and route visualization, while Three.js brings vehicles to life through an interactive 3D studio. We also developed separate dashboards for customers, garage owners, and administrators to create a connected service ecosystem.

⚡ Challenges We Overcame

One of our biggest challenges was bringing multiple features together into a seamless experience. Integrating GPS-based location services, managing booking workflows, calculating distances and estimated arrival times, and handling different user roles required careful planning and testing. We focused on making the platform practical, accessible, and easy to navigate.

📚 What We Learned

This project taught us that building a meaningful solution takes more than writing code. We learned to connect frontend and backend systems, work with databases and mapping APIs, solve integration issues, and think from the user's perspective. Most importantly, we learned how technology can turn an everyday problem into an opportunity for real-world impact.
