Inspiration
The inspiration for AthlynXAI Agentic Ops stems from the critical need for real-time observability in high-performance environments—specifically in sports analytics and medical monitoring. Coaches, athletes, and medical professionals require instant, actionable insights to optimize performance, prevent injuries, and monitor vital health metrics. We wanted to build a unified platform that leverages the power of AI agents to autonomously monitor these complex systems, ensuring high availability, rapid incident response, and deep data analysis.
What it does
AthlynXAI Agentic Ops is an AI-powered observability platform designed for two primary domains:
- Sports Platform Observability: Monitors athlete performance metrics, platform health, and API integrations (e.g., wearables data streams) to ensure coaches and teams have uninterrupted access to critical analytics.
- Medical Monitoring (Powered by Nebius): A specialized medical version that tracks vital signs for health management. This includes:
- Diabetes Monitoring: Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) integration to track blood sugar levels and alert users to dangerous spikes or drops.
- Heart Monitoring: Real-time heart rate and ECG data analysis to detect arrhythmias or abnormal cardiac events during physical exertion or rest.
- Athlete Recovery: Tracking sleep patterns, HRV (Heart Rate Variability), and other physiological markers to optimize recovery protocols and prevent overtraining.
The platform uses autonomous AI agents to continuously analyze logs, metrics, and traces. When an anomaly is detected—whether it's a server downtime issue or a critical medical alert—the agents automatically triage the issue, generate insights, and alert the relevant stakeholders.
How we built it
We built the platform using a modern, scalable stack:
- Splunk: The core observability engine, aggregating logs, metrics, and traces from our application and medical devices.
- Nebius: Powers the advanced AI models specifically trained for medical data analysis (diabetes and heart monitoring).
- Vercel & Next.js: For deploying a blazing-fast, responsive frontend dashboard.
- React & Node.js: The foundation of our user interface and backend API services.
- AI Agents: Custom-built autonomous agents that interface with Splunk to analyze data and trigger automated workflows.
- Wearables API: Integration with various wearable devices to pull in real-time health and performance data.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating disparate data streams—ranging from high-frequency sports performance metrics to highly sensitive medical data (CGM and ECG)—presented significant challenges. Ensuring data normalization, low latency, and strict security protocols required complex architectural decisions. Additionally, tuning the AI agents to accurately differentiate between a harmless data anomaly and a critical medical event required extensive testing and refinement of our Nebius-powered models.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Successfully integrating real-time medical monitoring (diabetes and heart rate) into a sports observability platform.
- Deploying autonomous AI agents that can actively monitor Splunk dashboards and provide actionable, human-readable insights.
- Creating a seamless, intuitive dashboard that serves both technical ops teams and medical/coaching staff.
What we learned
We learned the immense value of "Agentic Ops"—moving beyond passive dashboards to active, AI-driven observability. We also gained deep insights into the complexities of handling medical data streams and the importance of low-latency processing when dealing with vital health metrics.
What's next for AthlynXAI Agentic Ops
We plan to continue developing the medical version, expanding our Nebius-powered models to include predictive analytics for injury prevention and more comprehensive chronic disease management. We also aim to integrate more wearable APIs and enhance our AI agents' ability to automatically remediate system-level issues before they impact the user experience.
