The problem our project solves

COVID-19 is not just an urgent health crisis, but one which will have massive global social and economic impacts that will reverberate for years to come and could cost between 5 million and 25 million jobs.

Widespread job losses will have long-term impacts on women’s economic independence and security. An otherwise women are less-paid than men for the same work.

Women are at the heart of care and response efforts underway, difficulting the possibility to access to working time flexibility and a collaborative environment. We want to identify these greatest artists, generate a strong network, and build a platform that permits streaming live concerts and produced content easily and efficiently.

The solution we bring to the table

We want to support women's empowerment in the arts and entertainment industry but first, our vision includes also, using arts as an instrument of social change focusing on gender equality.

Arts and Change Network is a project with Women's Empowerment vision that counts with an own platform for streaming concerts and produced artistic content generated by women that work in the arts and entertainment industry.

Creating an own platform we create a professional and gender sensible space that guarantees the participation of the women in this industry, permitting the artist to continue to work receiving equal pay and contribute to society. This project will be financed with a yearly contribution for being part of the network and a user fee to access at each concert and workshop; the interviews and other small content will be financed for the advertising.

Our uniqueness is to focus our efforts to join forces to reduce the gender gap.

What we have done during the weekend

This weekend I evolved my idea to a project: the first step was reading, reading, reading! Then I started to work on the business canvas, contact artists, and review the format and design of the platform. Then I developed an example of the app and video demo with the tools and resources, and work with the mentors applying their advice. This experience was very challenging but also very enriching and interesting.

The solution's impact on the crisis

The women's empowerment vision of this project brings real impacts in their lives like receive equal pay for each concert or content created; the possibility of contact and work with empowered women who help other ones to grow in a professional environment without gender gap and having consideration of the problem of our gender

The necessities in order to continue the project

This project needs intellectual resources; women's expertise with different skills in arts, data analysis, web and app design, copy and storytelling, and business management. Also, it needs informatic resources like cloud, tools, and programs; and finally but not least, initial investments for bringing this initiative to the next level.

The value of our solution after the crisis

The support of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the arts and the entertainment industry is and will be one of the most important processes for our society. This initiative can be a concrete way to reduce the gender gap, educate people and spread culture to the world.
