Inspiration
As soon as the Restb.ai proposed their challenge, we immediately felt driven towards it. Our previous work with both back-end and front-end (although mostly we are beginners) made it an obvious choice.
What it does
APMaps is a Los Angeles neighborhood search engine with an interactive map which gives information about each neighborhood. There are two main pages, "explorar" which allows you to roam freely around L.A. and "encuentra tu barrio" which gives you a form to fill in order to create a heatmap of the L.A. neighborhoods that suit you the most.
How we built it
As we previously mentioned, we had some experience building websites, mostly in Nextjs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Everything in general, we're very proud of having been able to work as a team and having a functional outcome. In general, we signed up for this Hackathon to have fun, and we sure had a lot of it, so that's something to be absolutely glad about.
What we learned
We learned to organize ourselves as a team. Some of us were pretty new to coding, so surely we have taught each other some things.
What's next for APMaps
I guess we'll never know...
