Inspiration
The immune system is already one of nature's best tower defense games — specialized defenders, adaptive enemies, and the constant risk of the system turning on itself. We wanted to make that real.
What we built
Antibody is a tower defense & strategy game set inside the human body. Pathogens don't just march in a straight line — they mutate between waves, developing resistances to your current loadout. The adaptation matrix forces you to reconfigure towers each round, not just upgrade them. Push too hard in one direction and your own immune response triggers autoimmune collapse — the late-game's biggest threat isn't the pathogens, it's you.
How we built it
Designed in phases: core loop first (wave → mutate → adapt), then the autoimmune feedback system, then the bioluminescent electron-microscope visual language. All four artifacts — GDD, Player Journey Map, Visual Concept Package, and Production Plan — were developed in parallel to keep mechanics and presentation consistent.
Challenges
Balancing the adaptation matrix so players feel clever rather than punished was the hardest problem. The autoimmune mechanic needed a clear visual signal — overdoing it had to feel wrong before it was wrong.
