Inspired by the frustration of unreliable cellular and WiFi connections indoors, the creators of Anegrid set out to create a solution to finding the best spots for a strong signal and connection, whether it be inside the library, a local coffee shop, or the confines of your home.
What it does
Maps out home WiFi like a heat map so you know where the best spots are for a strong signal. Maps out public wifi spots like libraries and coffee shops so you know where the prime seating is. Maps out cellular connection so you can know in advanced where the data is the weakest.
How we built it
Challenges we ran into
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Able to finish our project within 12 hours. Have our designer leave for 9 hours and comeback and be able to collaborate with our Front-End Designer till the UI/UX was satisfactory.
What we learned
What's next for Anegrid
The next step for Anegrid is to be able to use use GPS and avoid spotty areas where the connection isn't stable enough to navigate without the GPS losing it's location so it can re-route when needed effortlessly. We'd like to include the ability to save previous WiFi locations you've been to so you can refer back to the heat map without having to wait for the app to ping to the router and back, Also for Anegrid, we'd like to see the completion of a fully functioning app available for download on the Android and IOS devices. With investor backing, the developers of Anegrid hope to be able to dedicate more time to creating a useful, successful product.
