Inspiration
As a born farmer, have firsthand experience of farmer's plight and hardship. I face challenges of connecting to agricultural stakeholders - the buyers, input suppliers, financiers, logistics providers which lead to post-harvest losses, economic loss and loss of Hope. Over 70% of rural Smallholder farmers face these challenges, the work so hard, under the sun and rain, but only face with a system that improvirished and rob them of their dignity, keeping them in a perpetual circle of poverty and hardships. That's why we are proposing AgriLinkChain as a sustainable solutions to address famers plight
What it does
AgriLinkChain is an AI Powered digital marketplace designed to connect all agricultural stakeholders -the buyers, input suppliers, financiers, logistics providers, and agricultural extension agents with traceability interphase all in one ecosystems.
How we built it
We built this technology leveraging AI, IoT, Blockchain, Smart contract and GPS enablement and e-commerce platform for digitizing agriculture. Text-to-speech and Speech-to-text options in local and foreign languages and sms/USSD option is also Integrated into AgriLinkChain
Challenges we ran into
Development Our AgriLinkChain, we face limited access to tech expert, limited funding to interating feedback generated from pilot phase and need for massive marketing of our innovation to rural communities who are not digitally inclined.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have achieve significant success with AgriLinkChain. We were selected for Startup Abuja Innovation Challenges 2025, Entrepreneurship World Cup Nigeria finalist 2025, and Young Africa Innovates as statements of our innovations. We have pilot our solution with 320 farmers, 50 buyers and 10 input suppliers. We are now interacting feedbacks.
What we learned
Through the development and initial piloting of AgriLinkChain, I’ve come to deeply understand the fragmentation and inefficiencies within the agricultural value chain in Nigeria. Farmers are often disconnected from buyers, input suppliers, financial institutions, and extension agents. This gap not only leads to post-harvest losses and income instability but also hinders market access and limits the adoption of best agricultural practices. One major insight is the value of trust and transparency—farmers are more willing to adopt digital tools when they see traceability and reliability built into the system. I also learned that digital literacy is a barrier among many smallholder farmers, which makes SMS-based and voice-enabled services more practical than app-only solutions in certain rural contexts. Another key lesson is the importance of partnerships—linking with cooperatives, aggregators, and local agents accelerates user acquisition and helps build trust faster than working with individual farmers alone. Furthermore, I’ve realized that real-time logistics, crop traceability, and financial services cannot function in silos—they must be interconnected through a seamless and interoperable platform.
What's next for AgriLinkChain
- Technology Enhancement: We plan to improve the current MVP by fully integrating smart contracts, AI-powered demand forecasting, and payment solutions to build trust and automate transactions.
- Scalability Testing: We will expand to more regions, targeting at least 500 farmers and 50 agribusinesses across two additional states. The goal is to validate performance and test scalability with more data points.
- Farmer Education and Onboarding Campaign: To address the digital literacy gap, we will roll out community-based training programs, using farmer field agents and demo days to onboard rural users.
- Strategic Partnerships: We're seeking partnerships with microfinance institutions, agro-input suppliers, and government agencies to boost adoption and integrate rural credit services and input financing into the platform.
- Data Monetization & API Economy: As we collect structured data on farmer behavior, crop production, and supply chain flow, we intend to build APIs for agri-insurtechs, researchers, and agri-policy planners who need real-time, traceable data insights.
- Fundraising & Institutional Support: Finally, we aim to raise funds from impact investors and apply for grants to expand the infrastructure and subsidize services for smallholders.
