Inspiration
More than 70% of people in Uganda work in agriculture. The country has more than three and a half million family farms, and many of its smallholders are among the poorest people in the world Sustainable Development Goals 1,8,9 were the inspiration for this project. We desire to see socio-economic growth for all citizens.
What it does.
Connects smallholder farmers to consumers , financial services and government benefits.
How we built it.
The project is still in the ideation phase. However we intend to use MOSIP for IDs authentication and verification PostgreSQL for structured data storage, such as farmer profiles, crop data, and transaction records. Firebase for Realtime synchronization Django for server-side logic and API development. ReactJs for front end SSL/TLS for secure data transmission over the internet. AES Encryption for encrypting sensitive data stored in databases. OpenStreetMap for mapping farm locations and visualizing data geographically. INJI and Mobile Money for secure transactions AI/ML Models for analyzing market trends, predicting crop yields, and identifying fraudulent activities.
What we learned
So far we have learnt the value of Digital IDs. We are actively learning the MOSIP platform.
Challenges faced
Learning MOSIP framework was challenging.
