How we built itYou can build AgriConnect as a full-stack web application that helps farmers find the best mandi to sell their crops, calculate transportation costs, connect with verified buyers, and maximize their estimated profits.
Challenges we ran intoWhile developing AgriConnect, we faced several challenges, including obtaining accurate, up-to-date mandi prices from reliable data sources, calculating transportation costs to different markets, and identifying the best mandi based on estimated net returns rather than selling prices alone. Integrating interactive maps and location-based services was another challenge, as accurate distances were essential for calculating logistics expenses. We also needed to design a user-friendly interface that farmers could easily navigate, manage crop listings and buyer offers efficiently, and ensure that farmer and buyer information remained secure. Additionally, handling inconsistent market data, connecting the frontend with the backend, and ensuring reliable communication between different services required careful testing and debugging. These challenges helped us improve our problem-solving skills and develop a more practical, efficient, and farmer-focused agricultural platform.
