Inspiration

8Play.Games is inspired by the golden days of arcade gaming. Remember the days where you would spend hours playing in your local arcade? The days where you just wouldn't want to go home until you've beaten that high-score. That is the exact feeling that we want to recreate! But this time everything is on blockchain, which means all assets that you acquire in game will be yours forever.

What it does

8Play.Games provides an avenue for sophisticated and casual gamers to enjoy easy to play, fun, simple, and addictive arcade games. Users can log-in using their Netizen NFTs (FTM native NFT) or continue as guest and enjoy browsing through multiple arcade games.

Players can also earn passive income by owning a land which will grant them a space inside the 8BIT metaverse and a % percentage of earnings for every player on their land.

8Play.Games is also leading the movement to provide utility to community owned tokens (meme tokens) by creating a game specific for the community. This will not only encourage communities to build on 8Play.Games but will also significantly raise the number of regular users.

Ultimately positioning 8Play.Games as a melting pot for different WEB3 communities.

How we built it

8play.Games is built using Unity and is fully integrated on Fantom network.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge that we ran into is delivering our first game, which is 8BIT Metaverse. In its scale 8BIT Metaverse remains to be the largest 2D metaverse on blockchain. Players can explore 350+ unique maps, exploring the whole 8BIT Metaverse will take you more than a day.

With proper planning and project management we were able to complete the whole 8BIT Metaverse on time. Now we are moving to our next phase, which is to build more games!

What we learned

Community is everything. If you want a successful project or brand, community building should be the priority.

What's next for 8Play Games

The next chapter for 8Play.Games is the launch of native token which will start the Play & Earn mechanism. We are also adding new arcade games every month so stay tuned!
