Zurich Insurance Assistant

Inspiration

We were excited to work with a real case of the insurance company and to automize the process of customers' service that can significantly address bureaucracy problem. Moreover, nowadays Generative AI is a state of the art and we we inspireed by the idea of creating a chatbot using the most powerful publicly available Large Language Models.

What it does

Our chatbot interacts with a customer that needs help via mobile application. It provides advises based on various input (text, images etc.) after retrieval in relevant documents.

How we built it

We split this project in two parts: frontend and backend. Android application as a frontend is used to communicate with a user and provides an UI for better interaction. On the backend we implemented various data preprocessing and created an interaction with one of the best existing LLM for document retrieval and questions answering.

Challenges we ran into

Initially we were just three persons and it was quite challenging to find the missing qualifications for the project. Another challenges are mostly related to the developing stage. For instance, even though case organisers provided us an environment on AWS, we spent some time to set up it in a way to be able to use it.
We would say that this Hackaton itself was a challenge where we overcome a lot of difficulties to deliver a final product.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As far as we split all the tasks between teammates, each of us is proud of different things. Some of us is proud of making the final video, another one is happy with implementation of various content input in mobile application and so on. But all together we are proud of delivering this solution and moreover that we did it not at the last minute.

What we learned

We improved our teamwork skills, as well as different hard skills including working with AWS, new libraries.

What's next for the team

We are always ready for the new challenges. We performed very well as a team and it inspired us on future collaboration in various competitions and may be even in our own sttartup as continuation of one of the common projects.
