Zodiac Checker

Inspiration

My friend loves zodiacs and astrology, so since I am a computer science major, I decided to make this program for him.

What it does

It gets two users input, and displays their names, birthdays, zodiac, and traits.

How we built it

I built an Eastern Zodiac in class once so I had a bit of an idea of how to do this. It still took a lot of researching though because I'm not exactly the most advanced in java. I also had to look into every trait the zodiacs had and when they were born.

Challenges we ran into

Working by myself. I kinda screwed myself over so I basically stayed up all of yesterday and today to work on this. I also haven't been coding for so long (started late last year), which is why I wanted to enter the beginner's bracket.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

That majority of the program works, and that it displays mostly correct information. I am also proud of myself because the image is up, and my quit button works. I also got to learn alot from this, and I have a basic understanding of a GUI and how to up an image up and using buttons to start your program.

What we learned

How to implement a gui in a program. Also how programming can be used for literally anything in life which was mind-blowing when my friend gave me an idea about this.

What's next for Zodiac Checker

I wish I could get the start button to work, maybe add the days of the week and include pictures for what zodiac you get. Maybe alos learning how to do this in a more efficient way.
